YOGA

YOGA CLASSES FOR CHICHESTER & HAMPSHIRE MEMBERS

Our new FORTNIGHTLY YOGA class for Fibromites (and other chronic illnesses) started on 23rd January at Donnington Hall (the same place where we hold the Fibromyalgia Support Group).

Yoga classes start at 10.45am and finishes at midday. Cost for the class is just £2.50 to FMS Group members and £3 to visitors. The classes are designed to take into account your fibromyalgia symptoms so you will not be asked to do anything that is painful or cause discomfort. The classes will help you to relieve the symptoms of your syndrome and enable you to manage your particular symptoms more effectively. The postures, exercises and breathing that you practice at class can be used throughout your daily routine or whenever your pain strikes!

Before joining the class, it is essential that I have a completed health questionnaire so that I am aware of your medical condition(s) and can advise you if the class is suitable or not. The ability to lay down unaided onto a mat is essential but many other limitations can be worked with or modified around. You will need a yoga mat (Tesco's sell them reasonably cheap nowadays) and a blanket for relaxation.

You pay for the class only when you attend. I will not charge for a missed session but I need to register you as a class member before you attend for health and safety purposes. I may talk to you directly about your medical condition, if I feel I need to, but this will only be for clarification so I can help you to get the most from your yoga sessions.

The dates for the classes this side of Easter are: 23rd January, 13th February, 27th February, 13th March and 27th March. If you are interested in attending the class please e-mail me at sarah.owen7@virgin.net or telephone 01243-781920.

TO BOOK: Please email or telephone Sarah as soon as possible. Obviously without enough support it may not go ahead. Give it a try - it will really help you.
