Donations

While we are organising the Folly Pogs Ball in September to raise funds for research, we are also conscious of the need for awareness.

By now you may know this is part of our mission and we hope in time this will persuade the Government to give money to research for fibromyalgia.

Very recently we were extremely lucky to set up an interview between two fibromites about the problems of living with this invisible disability - fibromyalgia. This was screened on local TV - TVChichester. The best part was it could be seen on the Internet. Fibromites across the company wrote to TVChichester director Graham Cowling saying they enjoyed the Fibromyalgia film and they wanted more FM programmes. With 2 million people, mainly women, already diagnosed with FM, as a potential audience, encouraged the TV station to offer us more support.

As it happened this led to greater things. We are now making a ‘power advertisement’ - only 30 secs but it will reach 84 countries through Global Digital Broadcast. This will answer questions about the mysterious illness endured by those yet to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The next project will be a ten-minute public information film.

Delighted with this opportunity thanks to Jules Foreman and Graham Cowling of TVChichester, we are now preparing to make a worthwhile documentary about fibromyalgia. This could cost up to £10,000 to make. Once completed using a professional documentary maker who frequently has films on national TV, we will be looking for a slot on Channel 4, ITV or BBC. There is even talk that with more experience we could eventually have our own Fibromyalgia Channel?

With this in mind we are launching a DOCUMENTARY DONATION FUND.

It is my hope that donors will be listed in the titles of the documentary as folk who had faith in the need to raise awareness about Fibromyalgia. We will certainly list the names on our website, unless the donors specifies otherwise. How quickly we make the documentary will depend on how soon we can find sponsors and donors. The future is bright.
