2009 CHICHESTER GROUP - NEW YEAR, NEW VENUE, NEW DAY, AND MORE FUN!

Following a lot of support at the November 08 meeting it was decided we should move our meetings from a ‘pub’ – The Selsey Tram (although they were very good to us) – to a more private location – where we could discuss personal business, have speakers and be free to just get up and walk around as the mood takes you.We moved for the January meeting and although holidays, illness and commitments kept our numbers low, it was a good venue – warm, spacious, facilities to make tea, no sorry about lots of laughter – in fact it was FAB.We had a very good January meeting, made some landmark decisions and we are on a roll for the New Year, which we hope to take by storm. There are a lot of folk out there with fibromyalgia who have been told by their doctors ‘there is no cure –take these anti-depressants and painkillers and live with”. We think otherwise. We believe in support, sharing, friendship and networking where those newly diagnosed can draw great strength and a different prospective.Do not listen to those who tell you support groups are all doom and gloom. They do not know what they are talking about. Laughter and giggles are on our agenda. We might be a trifle nonchalant at times (that is why we call ourselves the Folly Pogs) but we do get on with our lives and enjoy helping others in spite of this rotten invisible disability. If you are reading this as someone who thinks she or even he, might have the symptoms of fibromyalgia, come and talk to us. We would love to listen to you and share some of our experiences, in coping, with you.Generally we meet the third Friday of the month at the Donnington Hall (on the A286 coast road on the A27 Chichester round about where the footbridge is). We meet from 11am to 12.30-ish and some go for lunch at the Selsey Tram afterwards.

The next meetings are as follows but please ring our help line to confirm there has not been a change of date. Helpline 0845 345 5942 or email jeannehambleton@mac.com Our first meeting at this venue was on January 16th which proved to be as successful as we hoped. The next meetings are held on:

FRIDAY: February 20, March 20, April 24, May 22, June 26 2009 We hope to

See you there!
